I’m a salesperson with over 20 years experience selling professional services specialising recently in the Solar Industry plus Digital Agency and Web Content Management (CMS). My roles have included Co Founder, Director, Sales Director, Senior Manager, Operations and Production Management and Business Development.


I have been successful in my career to date because I focus on relationships with clients, partners and fellow employees who then trust me to provide them the right information to make decisions. I have a high attention to detail, excellent communication skills and able to work in a team environment.

CAREER HISTORY 

September 2016 – March 2017

Energy Mate Australia - Co Founder / Shareholder 

Energy Mate Australia is a spin off from Total Energy that changed direction from just solar installations that included products such as solar hot water systems, pool pumps, cool rooms, air-conditioning, LED lighting, energy brokering and network metering services for commercial and residential customers.

Since I have gained vast industry knowledge I believe this would be wasted if I didn't stay in the solar industry, backed by my past sales and marketing experience.

  • Manage sales process through sales agents and      channel partners.
  • Co ordinate and manage sales process.
  • Clear understanding of the solar industry.
  • Implemented CRM and sales management tools.
  • Understanding of energy bills plus prepared quotes via online tools such as PVSell.
  • Created new networks in solar finance, metering and brokering
  • Developing sales template documents and marketing material.
  • Co ordinate and implement new website.
  • Implementing and managing company invoicing for network and brokering partners.


November 2015 – August 2016

Total Energy Australia

Provide assistance with sales and marketing to grow the company and close sales through partners. 

Total Energy was conceived by ex bankers, lawyers and metering experts to offer Power Purchase Agreements and large-scale solar farms.

As this was a role in a new industry I learnt about the solar industry and how it works.

March 2014 – Ongoing

Self employed contractor providing professional services to clients for online solutions plus advising and assisting vendors in the digital and website industry. 

Projects includes building a partner network and working with those partners to achieve sales for SilverStripe Australia. Implementing processes for tender responses to ensure integrity and consistent company messages.

Squiz Australia – Executive Director
I joined Squiz in its early days with a handful of developers and one sales person, 15 years later Squiz is Australia’s largest digital agency who work with organisations to build and manage their online solutions and employs over 300 people with offices in all Australian capital cities. 

  • Squiz’s Web Content Management System (Matrix) is listed on the Gartner Magic Quadrant – 4 years in a row
  • More than half of all Australian government departments and universities use Squiz’s technology and services. 
  • Many well known private sector and NGO portfolio.

I’m proud to be a major contributor that grew the company to what it is today through strong sales leadership and building loyal client relationships. 

Key responsibilities

  • Squiz board member (Executive Director).
  • Grew sales revenue from under $1 million per annum to over $30 + million per annum selling professional services (not licensing fees), while achieving high profitability. Grew employees from 10 to 400 employees worldwide.
  • Managed and maintained $600,000 per week sales targets.
  • Early to market Cloud Hosting solutions and sales to Government and corporate clients.
  • Sold over $40 million dollars in new sales (professional services). Average sale $50k - $150k.
  • Sold many of the company’s highest grossing and profitable contracts.
  • Maintained key client portfolio with over $30 million in ongoing revenue contracts.
  • Strategically engineered and won Whole of Government web solutions into South Australia and Northern Territory.

Telstra Bigpond - Support Manager
As an entry point into the IT industry I started in customer support where I was quickly promoted to manage a support team of 12 where I implemented an email response framework to increase efficiency.

Chef
After working in the family business for 6 years I decided to go back into the kitchen and follow my passion for food where I worked as an executive chef and personal chef to Harry M Miller (Agent to the stars) cooking for well known Australian celebrities.


August 1991 – May 1997
Bollom’s Sales Agency - Sales Representative
Our family arts and crafts business achieved a turnover of $20 million per annum supplying paint, brushes and needlecraft supplies to independent retail stores, manufacturers, large chain and department stores across Australia.

  • Visit and build relationships with new and existing clients to achieve sales.
  • Implemented processes to manage online stock & ordering systems.


1986 – 1991 - Chef

Started as an Apprentice chef and completed a 4 year apprenticeship by age 20. I worked in a number of boutique restaurants and 5 star hotels. 

During my apprenticeship I worked under many well-known chefs and through my work ethic and discipline gained the respect of senior chefs and owners and progressed quickly.
